Simpson County Courthouse – Roof Repairs and Restoration & Window and Door Restoration Project #1911.1

Sealed bids will be received at the Simpson County Courthouse located at 111 West Pine Ave, Mendenhall, Mississippi, during legal office hours until 9:00 a.m. CST, December 8, 2022, for the Simpson County Courthouse – Roof Repairs and Restoration & Window and Door Restoration, Project No. 1911.1, for all labor, equipment, and materials (as detailed and specified). Sealed Bids may also be mailed to the Simpson County Board of Supervisors, 111 West Pine Ave., Mendenhall, MS, 39114 or P.O. Box 308.
Bids will be opened and read aloud at the closing of the bid period in the County Board Room. The work generally consists of the following items:
1. The Simpson County Courthouse is a Mississippi Landmark and on The National Register of Historic Places. Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) has been, and will continue to be, involved with the project.
2. The project scope will involve Repairs and Restoration to Roof and Associated Drainage Components including membrane roofing and extensive copper roof and flashing work.
3. Add Alternate #1: Repairs and Restoration of Exterior Doors and Windows. The above general outline of features of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all labor, equipment and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein.
Bidder must be qualified under Mississippi Law and show current Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors establishing his classification as to the value and type of construction on which he is authorized to bid. Bids shall show the Contractor’s Certificate of Responsibility Number on the Bid envelope.
Proposals must be submitted in duplicate on the form included in the Project Manual and must be accompanied by a bid guarantee of at least five percent of the bid. Bidders shall also submit a current financial statement, if requested, by the Owner. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the contract amount. No proposals may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time.
Awarding public contracts to non-resident bidders will be on the same basis as the non-resident bidder’s state awards contracts to Mississippi Contractors bidding under similar circumstances.
